Nationalpark Kurjenrahka



So on the 23rd of September I went hiking with four other girls, who also speak dutch. So we left at 09:00, because it was 1 hour and 30 minutes with the bus to the National park "Kurjenrahkan". So in the national park there were about 5 routes you could take, we choose the route(orange) that was around the lake and also was the smallest. I was expecting to hike for about two hours, but it took a lot longer. We have been hiking for about 4 hours, so that took a lot longer than I expected. But at the end of the day we walked about 10
kilometers.









We had chosen a really good day to go to the national park, because apparently it was the last day that the bus would go to the national park and because I don't have a car or a Drivers license yet, we picked the right day.
The weather was also quite nice, because the sun was shining the whole day and it was about 10 degrees outside. I only had it cold when we stopped moving for about 30 minutes.

The national park was really beautiful and I took lots of pictures, so that I could share it here in my blog and share it with my friends and family. I would highly recommend this national park to everyone, especially on a beautiful day like we had. I also would recommend to do the orange route, this one goes around the lake and the lake is a really nice place to take beautiful pictures. If you are going to the national park in the summer
you also could do some kayaking, but I wouldn't recommend to swim in the lake for it was like brown water and it didn't look that clean to swim in.

My appartment

So now I will show you guys my apartment and tell you about my experience of living on my own in a strange country for the first time. So I'm sharing the apartment with a dutch friend of mine, so technically I'm not really living on my own, so it is nice to live with someone you already know because you can eat together and you can speak your own language when you are home so that is really nice. My first impression of the apartment that it is bigger than I thought it would be, especially the hall is very long and the kitchen is nice. The only thing I didn't like was the floor and the bed, because the floor has a black and white pattern so that irritated me at first, but know I'm getting used to it. So know about the bed the first night I slept on the bed was one of the worst nights I had, because the mattress and the pillow are really thin, so the next day my back hurt a lot and I didn't get enough sleep that night. Leaving the Netherlands behind and starting my new adventure

So on the 23th of august 2019 I left from Amsterdam to Turku for my minor. So I was really excited to move to Finland, but I was also kind of nervous. I was nervous because I would have to live in another country for 4 months. Also I was leaving my friends and familiy behind and I had to meet new people and make new friends, but I'm not really good at that so I was a bit worried. My first impression of Turku is that there are a lott of wooden houses and a lott of appartment buildings. Also there are a lott of hills, lakes and forest here in Finland. We don't really have that in the Netherlands, in the Netherlands there are more grassland and stone houses. And there aren't really that much hills. So later on I will tell you guys how my first school week went and how I experienced living in Turku for about two weeks and I will show you my appartement.
